4. Setting Up the Basics

Lets add Institute Settings

Now ts time to add some basic details about the institute. But don't worry, its not much. For your convenience, we have bundled it all together in Settings menu option in the side menu.

Settings Menu Option

We have arranged sub-menu options in the order in which we will need to add these information. So lets get started and feed in some basic details of the institute.

Diving into the Settings Menu

Let us dive into the basic information and settings that is needed to be entered for the app to function smoothly in accordance with the structure of your institute.

1. Subjects

Firstly lets add all the individual Subjects that your institute offers, for instance English, Science, Mathematics etc. To add individual subjects:

  1. Just press the "+" button at the bottom right corner of your screen.

  2. Add the name of the subject in the popup.

  3. Once done, press the Save button.

Make sure that you have added all the individual Subjects that are taught in your institute here before proceeding further. These Subjects will be later used in Batches, Time-Tables and Results.

2. Courses

Courses is nothing but grouping of Subjects that we added earlier. By creating various courses here, it becomes easy to create batches (which we will be doing in next section) as we don't have to assign same subjects again and again. To add courses offered:

  1. Just press the "+" button at the bottom right corner of your screen.

  2. Add the basic details like course name and optional course details for your internal reference.

  3. Select Subject that is taught in the course.

  4. To add more Subjects to the course click the + button within the popup.

  5. Once all the Subjects have been grouped you can save the course by clicking on the Save button at the bottom.

Kindly ensure you have created all the courses using which you want to create batches.

3. Modules

We understand that some institute's might not want to use certain features of the EduCoach depending upon their requirement, work-flow, resources or some other reasons. The beauty of EduCoach lies in the fact that it can adapt to your institute's requirements rather then enforcing your institute to adapt to EduCoach. Under the Modules screen, you get a complete ownership to configure your app and make EduCoach truly your institute's app.

Modules Screen

If you wish to enable/disable any feature that might not be of any use to your institute, you can make that module inactive. The module thus made inactive will not be visible in the EduCoach app.

That's it! you just configured few basic settings for your institute.
